    Abstract

The Museums are references to the culture of a community. Immersive technologies, specifically virtual reality, have received support from international companies which provide free tools for developers to use them. These cultural institutions can benefit from this technology, by providing a new experience so that the public can appreciate artistic works from anywhere in the world, just with their cell phone and a VR viewer. This research presents the development of a virtual reality gallery to exhibit the artistic works of the archaeological museum of Cayambe, in Ecuador. The virtual application was made with the Google VR and Unity SDK, where each exhibited work has an image, a text and an audio, and the visitor assumes an active participation since he is who decides where to go during the virtual tour. The tests carried out showed a good integration of the elements of the application and acceptance by the users.
