Abstract
Stefan Silber’s theological contributions are explored from a postcolonial viewpoint. The application of postulates to postcolonial and decolonial studies are pertinent for the Church pastoral and theological work because they facilitate a better understanding of his work and reflection about present reality. By keeping track of the German theologian Stephan Silber through a bibliographical documental methodology from his pastoral and theological reflections, his contributions are outlined from a postcolonial perspective to understand and transform theological practice in three areas: laymen role, urban pastoral, and theological work in itself. So, an invitation is made to consider the possibilities theology poses in postcolonial and decolonial clues for a continuous renovation of the Church faith and life. Silber shows that these perspectives, far from being a threat for the Church owing to their critical tone, can be allies for its change and fidelity to Gospel. Keywords:.
