Percepción de la familia sobre la gestión del cuidado perioperatorio en pacientes pediátricos

Objective: To describe parents’ perceptions of the care provided by nursing professionals to pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures. Method: A qualitative study with a phenomenological approach, conducted through semi-structured interviews with parents of pediatric patients who underwent surgical interventions. Data were analyzed using inductive content analysis. Results: Parental perceptions of nursing care were globally positive and were shaped by experiences related to the information received, emotional support, clinical monitoring, and education provided during the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. Conclusion: Perioperative nursing care management, when grounded in clear communication, emotional support, and continuity of care, helps reduce the emotional impact of the surgical process and strengthens families’ trust in the nursing team.
