On the Quantum Limit of Intensity and Phase Noise in Negative Frequency Feedback Lasers

Abstract

The quantum limit of intensity and phase noise in negative frequency feedback semiconductor lasers is calculated. It is shown that under some conditions the number-phase uncertainty can be reduced to the ultimate Heisenberg uncertainty limit.
