Abstract

Quantum cryptography is a technique for establishing a fundamentally secure cryptographic key, using the encoding of the key on single photon pulses. A 1550 nm stable `plug and play' interferometric scheme for quantum cryptography is implemented on two-state encoding. The interference will be constructive and destructive if the phase difference between transmitter and receiver is zero and pi, respectively.
