Description
How can institutions show if their research impacts real world public policy? In a PhD project at UCL’s Impact Policy Unit at the Department of Science, Technology Engineering and Public Policy (STEaPP), the ICSR team and Student Afagh Mulazadeh are working together to assess if it’s possible to trace how research evidence reaches policymakers. By tracking the influence of explicit knowledge sources, such as those produced by POST and the House of Commons Library, on parliamentary debate and scrutiny in the UK we hope to employ neuro-linguistic programming and related text-mining techniques to uncover modalities of influence of research evidence.
