Description

2019-2021: Funders need to determine the most equitable approach to allocating resources, depending on similarities in topics. With the University of Oxford InFoMM Center for Doctoral Training, the ICSR research team worked with PhD sStudent Ambrose Yim to use geometry to quantify research multi-disciplinarity. Through the course of the project, a model was developed which enabled topic trends to be quantified. By measuring the similarity of objects (e.g. articles), it becomes possible to measure how a body of published literature develops over time, therefore enriching the ways of capturing moving research fronts.
