Project Details

Description

• This is a partnership with the Association for Women in Science (AWIS), a global network with 80 grassroots chapters and affiliates connecting more than 100,000 professionals in STEM with members, allies and supporters worldwide.
• The purpose is to meet the mutual goals of AWIS and Elsevier to facilitate access to research, resources, and best practices for intersectional gender equity in the STEM professoriate.
• Funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) ADVANCE Program (Jesse DeAro, program officer; Award HRD-1740860) the ADVANCE Resource and Coordination (ARC) Network (https://www.equityinstem.org/) seeks to achieve gender equity for faculty in higher education science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. As the STEM equity brain trust, the ARC Network recognizes the achievements made so far while producing new perspectives, methods and interventions with an intersectional, intentional and inclusive lens. The leading advocate for women in STEM, AWIS serves as the backbone organization of the ARC Network.
• As part of the collaboration, Elsevier is providing in-kind resources for the ARC Network Resource Library and ARC Network Community on the Mendeley platform and a branded ARC Network e-journal on the SSRN platform.
